Practicing in the Jodo Shinshu Tradition
The temple will be closed beginning Monday, December 15th, 2025, due to the final stage of restoration work. The closure is estimated to last until the end of February 2026. Beginning December 21st, Sunday and special services will return to the Densho community room. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding during this time.
Last Sunday during Dharma Exchange, Rev. Kusunoki showed a short video on the history of the Buddhist Churches of America. Many sangha members enjoyed the video and requested to watch it from home and share it with friends. Please click on the YouTube thumbnail above to watch and share the video.
Congratulations to the Betsuin Arson Restoration Project committee and thank you to the Association of King County Historical Organizations for presenting the Temple with an AKCHO 2025 Board Award.
On October 28th, Seattle Betsuin accepted an Award from AKCHO as part of a night of honoring “programs and projects that have made our county’s history shine.” Thank you to the ARP committee for their ongoing work towards restoring the Temple! Gambarimashou. We hope that you will visit us when the temple re-opens in 2026.
